Aurora Borealis – February 8, 2014

Another late night/early morning, surprise showing of the northern lights.

”No time! Run down the street with the camera in your pajamas!”

The band starts to shimmer and move . . . fast. This wasn't the brightest display of the northern lights I've seen, but I think it was the fastest!

The bands started to shimmer and move . . . fast. This wasn’t the brightest display of the northern lights I’ve seen, but I think it was the fastest! It was a really cool night.

Aurora kicks up the speed again. There was so much detail in it, but it was washed out from fast motion, even with a fast shutter speed. This was a surprise showing; I was running down the road in my pajamas. Got a little cold out there!
